Privacy Policy

BusinessMap Extractor ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that extracts publicly available business information from Google Maps search results. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

The Extension collects the following data only from publicly visible Google Maps pages when you actively initiate a scrape:

• Business names
• Business addresses
• Phone numbers (Pro plan only)
• Website URLs
• Star ratings and review counts
• Business categories

This data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's local storage API. It is never sent to our servers unless you use the license validation feature.

2. License Validation

When you activate a Pro license key, the Extension sends only your license key to our validation server to verify your subscription status. We do not send any scraped business data, browsing history, or personal information during this process.

3. Payment Processing

Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We do not store or have access to your credit card details. Stripe collects your email address and payment information under their own privacy policy.

4. Email

When you purchase a Pro subscription, we send your license key to the email address you provided during checkout. We do not use your email for marketing purposes unless you explicitly opt in.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not track your browsing history
• We do not collect personal information beyond what's needed for license validation
• We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties
• We do not use analytics or tracking scripts in the Extension
• We do not access any pages other than Google Maps

6. Data Storage & Security

All scraped data is stored locally on your device and never leaves your browser. License keys are stored in Chrome's local storage. Our validation server uses HTTPS encryption for all communications.

7. Your Rights

You can:

• Delete your data — click "Clear" in the Extension to remove all scraped data
• Uninstall — removing the Extension deletes all locally stored data
• Cancel your subscription — use the "Manage Subscription" link in the Extension or contact us
• Request data deletion — email us to have your customer record removed from Stripe

8. Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — to read the current Google Maps page when you initiate a scrape
• scripting — to inject the scraping script into Google Maps
• storage — to save scraped results and your license key locally
• downloads — to export results as CSV, JSON, or Excel files

The Extension only activates on Google Maps pages (google.com/maps) and does not run on any other websites.

9. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
